Everyone loves food, but not everyone knows where to go to find the best of the good stuff! Picking a place to eat can often be tricky while traveling. Trying to select that perfect place to satisfy that absymal hole of hunger growing deep down inside your stomach, all the while making sure you select the best spot that is not only appealing, but safe to eat can be quite annoying. That’s why I have put together a list of the top 10 places to get delicious street food while traveling in Delhi, India.


Bishan Swaroop Chat Corner

If you are looking for something sweet and savory, then this is your place. With a large variety of fruits and legumes, there are many combinations that will satisfy even the most outrageous of cravings. As all blends of this delicious fruit chat are unique, you will never eat the same thing twice. Situated only a mere 6kms from the downtown core, this little shop should definitely be on any travelers go to list.


Old Famous Jalebi Wala

This quaint little shop is quite something. Ordering one of their two delicious menu items may seem like more of a competition than giving an order, but it sure is worth it. As you near the crowed little booth located not far from Chandni Chowk, you can more than satisfy your sweet tooth with either one of their delicious Samosas or Jalebis. Just make sure to yell louder than the rest or your order may not be heard.


Shiv Mishthan Bhandar

Yet another amazing little resto located in Chandni Chowk. Makes for a delicious little breakfast spot to start your day off just right. Serving up some tasty puris with a side of perfectly spiced curried potatoes, this satisfying meal will make you feel ready to take on the world!

Located in the walled city of Delhi, this sweet little spot will have anyone feeling like a kid again. So many sweets to choose from, you’ll have a hard time deciding which one to try first. Known for their award winning Sweets, this sugary shop knows where it’s at. Offering many different sweets such as Tiranga Sohan Halwa, Feni, Pistaloj and many more, there is no need to choose just one!


Natraj Dahi Bhalla

Located on one of the busiest corners of Chandni Chowk, this tasty little spot does not disappoint. Despite its small menu, it is always serving up some huge flavor. Praised for their dahi bhalla and aloo tikki, you will surely be coming back more than once.


Lala Duli Chand Naresh Gupta

There is nothing more refreshing than a cool sweet treat on a hot day. This adorable little shop offers a variety of delicious handmade fruit creams that only years of family tradition can compete with. ‘Lala Duli Chand Naresh Gupta Sweets’ is only a hop-skip away from the Chawri Bazar Metro Station.

Located near the Sarojini nagar market, this place is heaven. If you have a hankering for something warm with a little bit of spice, this is the where you will find it. Serving beautifully handmade kulchas, the term ‘fresh’ doesn’t even begin to describe it. Pair it with unlimited chole and chatni and you will eat yourself into a food coma.

Don’t make any mistake; there are tons more incredible places to try in Delhi. No shortage of choices here!
