Have friends or family visiting from out of town and need to entertain them? Want to impress a date but don’t want to do the usual “date-like” things?

Don’t have a lot of money but still want to have a memorable experience???

Well, The High Line may be just the place for you. Formally, a historic freight rail line, The High Line is a public park elevated above the streets on Manhattan’s West Side. It runs from Gansevoort Street in the Meatpacking District to West 34th Street, between 10th and 11th Avenues.

Open from 7am to 11pm daily, The High Line offers a plethora of things for visitors to do, from several different food and merchandise vendors, to impromptu concerts and artistic performances. You can get your feet wet in the shallow water feature or lay out and tan on the sun deck. If none of that is for you, you can find a quiet corner to get all romatical and have a picnic or just sit and chat.

And, no matter where you are standing in the park, you have access to some of the best views of New York City…ever.

The best part about The High Line is, admission is absolutely free! For more information on the park’s events, click  here.
