As a girl that was born on the first day of summer, I always look forward to the warm weather. Let’s face it, summer just brings all kinds of goodness.

One of my favorite treats to indulge in is, gelato. Sort of like ice cream, gelato originated in Italy and generally has a lower fat content as it is made with milk instead of cream.

One of the things I love most about gelato is it strays from the typical ice cream flavors (e.g chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry) and can get real exotical (yeah…I know that’s not really a word). The flavors usually consist of natural, seasonal and organic ingredients. If you’re in New York City, check out a few of my favorite spots!
