As of late, it seems like every other week new eateries are popping up all over Harlem. On Fredrick Douglas Blvd. aka 8th Ave alone, I’ve noticed about 7-8 new restaurants over the last couple of years.

My latest jaunt led me to The Park 112. Located in what is now referred to as SoHa (South Harlem) steps away from Central Park, this restaurant and wine bar specializes in global cuisine, nestled in a cozy environment. Guests have the choice to dine at the dimly illuminated communal table or sit at a private one. There’s really not a bad seat in the house.

One of the most unique offerings of The Park 112 is, the self – service enomatic wine machine. They reinvent the way to enjoy and explore wine. Their self – service system allows the patron to enjoy tastes, half glasses and full pours of our continually rotating list of favorite vintages. However, if you are not comfortable with this, they still have a sommelier and mixologist on site.

While reviewing the menu, I could tell it’s global influence pulled a bit from the South, the West Indies and Asia. Which is always a dope fusion. Diner’s have the option of doing the group share thing with the small plates, or ordering full entrees. Whichever they pick, their tasted buds will be delighted.

We decided to do a little of both. We ordered 3 small plates, 2 entrees and drinks…

CornbreadCorn bread that is sweet, moist and fluffy like a piece of cake, but then cooked on the flat top to give it a quick sear. You guys know how I live for bread. This was so good, I didn’t want to share it!

Romaine & Kale Caesar

Snapper TacosNext up were the, Kale and Romain Caesar and Red Snapper Fish Tacos…

ChickenBrick Chicken w/sweet potato sage puree mustard greens, herb chicken jus

scallopsSmoked Sea Scallops w/cauliflower cheese grits. Now normally, I am NOT a grit eater at all, and I was a little leery they were made with cauliflower but, I decided to give these a try and oooh weee…They were crazy good. I dont know what they put in them but MAN!!!

DrinkThey also have signature cocktails. The Fredrick Douglass – Bulleit Bourbon, Chili Passion Fruit, Puree, Rimmed with Chili Sugar.

They are open for lunch, dinner and weekend bunch, which I hear is killer. If you decide to stop by, tell them I sent you!
